The upcycling project explained

The Problem of Fashion Waste

The fashion industry is notorious for its significant contribution to global waste. Dry cleaners, in particular, accumulate vast amounts of discarded garments that are often still in good condition but are considered unusable due to minor damages, stains, or simply being out of fashion. These items typically end up in landfills, exacerbating environmental pollution and resource wastage.

Our Solution

Reclaim AI is redefining garment sorting by transforming manual processes into intelligent, scalable systems powered by AI and robotics. With millions of tonnes of waste generated annually, traditional sorting methods remain slow, costly, and inefficient. Our approach improves efficiency, reduces landfill dependency, and unlocks new value by identifying garments for resale, repair, or upcycling with greater speed and accuracy.

Our Process

The upcycling process at onezero8 involves several stages:

  1. Collection: Garments are gathered from partnering dry cleaners.
  2. Sorting: Items are sorted based on material, condition, and potential for redesign.
  3. Repair and Redesign: Skilled designers repair any damages and creatively redesign the garments.
  4. Resale: The upcycled garments are sold through various channels, including online platforms like Depop and social media channels like TikTok and Instagram.
